Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF)

More than 100 million tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) made from household and commercial waste is produced in the United Kingdom every year. Most of this waste is destined for landfill, but can easily and economically be turned into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF).

SRF is a fuel produced by sorting, shredding and drying mixtures of MSW and other low grade materials, to meet a strict specification.

Nottinghmashire Recycling also offer a Secure Destruction, in which the confidential material is turned into SRF, for more information please click here.

By turning MSW into SRF not only is a valuable fuel produced but the waste sent to landfill is drastically reduced. The amount of landfill space available is reducing rapidly and the cost of sending material to be landfill is escalating. Environmental pressures are now seeing landfill as the very last resort.

In addition the world’s thirst for energy is unquenchable with more and more energy being required. It is predicted that the demand for energy in the future will not be met unless more energy producing plants are created. The Company's Lidner 2800 Power Komethas been producing quality SRF for over two years and NRL have now become one of the key suppliers throughout the UK.
